Project Name: Linn County Dows Road – Barn Demolition Derecho Project
Project Location: 622 Dows Road, SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401
Project Description: Demolition of a Derecho damaged barn that is beyond the possibility of repair. The scope of the work is outlined in the contract documents. Care must be taken to limit further damaging the land surrounding the demolition area. The barn consists of approximately 6,300 SF on two floors with a hay mow. There is a debris field around the barn that needs to be cleared as part of this project. One the bar, retaining wall are removed, the land needs to be filled, graded, and seeded. A livestock fence needs to be installed to connect the fences that now use the barn as a barrier.
Pre-Bid Conference: In order for a bid to be considered, bidder or bidder’s representative must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference at the Linn County Public Service Center in the Informal Board Room at 935 2nd Street SW, Cedar Rapids, IA on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 1:30 CST.
Receipt of Bids: Bids will be received by Linn County at the Linn County Purchasing Department located in the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center at 935 2nd Street SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until 2:00 pm local time, on Friday, December 13, 2024. Linn County will not consider bids received after the bid submission deadline, and will return such bids unopened to the late bidder.

Rapids Reproductions will issue plans to all Contractors. A maximum of two sets of Construction Documents will be provided to each General Contractor upon delivery of a $250 per set refundable deposit made payable to the Architect but delivered to Rapids Reproductions Cedar Rapids office. All other Subcontractors and Suppliers may obtain one set of Construction Documents upon delivery of a $250 per set refundable deposit made payable to the Architect but delivered to Rapids Reproductions Cedar Rapids office. Plans and specifications to be viewed are in Adobe .pdf format and may be downloaded and printed.
