Winneshiek County Courthouse | Decorah, Iowa
This long standing landmark of Decorah, originally built in 1904, was in need of a master plan to continue serving as the center of local government for the next 100 years. We produced a Master Stabilization and Rehabilitation Plan for the County that identified immediate, short, and long term needs of the building. This courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places so extra consideration was given to the buildings historic features and finishes, with all work following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Since 2017 we have completed a full roof replacement, new color changing rooftop LED lighting to illuminate the dome, replacement of the existing lightning protection system, tower window replacements, and attic renovations.
